EMT Program
EMT is the entry-level position in the emergency medical services field. In 3-4 months, you can learn the skills you will need to work as part of a medical response team. EMTs provide basic emergency medical care and transportation to patients who access the EMS system. Medics make a difference, every day. A few of the skills you will learn:
  • Opening the airway and providing artificial ventilation
  • Delivery of semi-automated defibrillation
  • Controlling severe bleeding
  • Dressing and bandaging wounds
  • Splinting injured extremities
  • Delivery and care of infants
  • Emergency vehicle operations
  • Communications and medical record keeping

Course Schedule
Classes for our Fall 2017 semester begin on August 16, 2017. For more information, or to sign up, please see below.

Spring/Fall semesters: Courses are held four days a week (Monday-Thursday), from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. each day. It will take about 3-4 months to complete all courses and get your certificate.

Summer semester: Courses are held five days a week (Monday-Friday) from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. each day. It will take about two months to complete all courses and get your certificate.

Basic Course Composition:
Classroom Instruction: 25 days (100 hours)
Skills Instruction and Practice: 17 days (68 hours)
Ambulance Clinical Time: Two 12-hour shifts
